“The Hook-ness exhibition is the first of a series of investigative studies conducted under the scope of the –Ness project, conceived by Vancouver designer and curator Joji Fukushima. –Ness explores a strategy of design investigation where mundane events and phenomena are examined and re-designed to expose the limitations of our established perceptions.”
Hook-ness is a collaborative exhibition featuring the work of seven Vancouver-based designers who explore the complexities of ‘hook’. The exhibition runs from May 22 to July 10, 2010 at the 221A Artist Run Centre in Vancouver, Canada.
Zoe Garred, a vancouver-based designer, works primarily with natural materials. Zoe’s passion lies in creating objects that are useful but abstract in form and application. Zoe recently exhibited at the designboom mart at ICFF 2010 in New York and has shown her work at the designboom mart at 100% design Tokyo, designboom’s “handled with care” in London, and at the Concourse Gallery and the Wood Co-op, both in Vancouver.
