Born in 1964, Akita Japan. Sasaki has drawn thousands of human heartbeats since 1995. At Dwell on Design Los Angeles 2011, Sasaki drew a portrait of Stephanie Forsythe’s heartbeat on a molo softwall. Four minutes of her life that can now be expanded, contracted, shared and experienced endlessly on the flexible wall.
For Sasaki, the shared experience of the heartbeat project is about a bond that connects all people. Sasaki’s heartbeat portraits drawn at Dwell on Design raised funds for Architecture for Humanity’s rebuilding efforts in Japan following the Tsunami.
