Participating in trade shows is already a significant investment, and custom builds for one-time use or fixed dimensions rarely support long-term planning. Instead of tailoring your pieces for the space you’re in, modular and flexible event furniture offers a sustainable and strategic approach.

Flexible furniture systems simplify the way teams can build and transform spaces on the ground. Lightweight and foldable, molo pieces are easily assembled and disassembled without specialized skills, reducing setup time while maintaining a high level of design integrity. This ease of use allows your team to create engaging and responsive temporary environments with pieces that can be endlessly repurposed from event to event.

The molo soft collection is an ideal addition to a furniture kit for temporary events, exhibitions, and trade shows. Designed to be used and reconfigured in endless ways, the only limit is your imagination.

design your booth with modular furniture

Designing a compelling trade show booth or event space begins with a simple goal: creating a small yet immersive world that draws the audience in.

molo’s softwall, softseating, and cloud lighting share a unified textural language, bringing cohesion and distinction into the design of a trade show booth or temporary space. Every element is inherently versatile, offering your team infinite possibilities to explore using them as backdrops, product displays, spatial dividers, or even to define and create seating areas for attendees. Adapting to a range of booth sizes and layouts, molo pieces come together to create the ideal event furniture kit. As venues and configurations change, molo pieces adapt alongside them.

Expanding and contracting to meet your spatial requirements, space partitions such as softwall and benchwall carve out definition and establish a feeling of enclosure. By defining boundaries without rigidity, the environments you create suddenly feel composed and intentional. The pleated honeycomb structure both tempers acoustics and softens harsh lighting, offering visitors a sense of calm away from the surrounding noise – a rare and valuable quality in trade show settings.

effortless assembly and storage

Constructed with flexibility in mind, softwall + softblock consist of 1% material and 99% air when fully expanded, making them exceptionally lightweight and compact. The honeycomb lattice allows the structures to be spontaneously rearranged to transform space with efficient use of material.

Starting with pieces that lighten the load of your design kit will make constructing your temporary event space easier. Uniformly designed with one primary material, the omission of extra materials or additional components like metal rods or stubborn vinyl banners allows your team to easily assemble and configure each molo object.

As part of molo’s modular collection of paper and textile folding furniture, softwall and softblock feature magnetic end panels that allow each element to seamlessly connect. Adding length or volume by stacking pieces allows you to form immersive, sculptural environments that feel like installations.

Paper stools, benches, and tables from our softseating collection can be unfolded in under a minute, allowing your team to add and subtract as needs arise during the event. When the event is complete, each item neatly compresses for flat pack storage, side-by-side with your other molo pieces.

When stored compressed, every object from the soft collection shrinks to the thickness of a book. We find this especially helpful when storing molo objects, as the chance of damage caused in storage is significantly minimized. Made from durable paper or non-woven textile, each piece is meant to be stored, moved, opened and closed, without causing strain to the structure or composition.

construct unique environments

Our work is an exploration of building more thoughtful worlds and experiences. We see design as a collaborative experience, defined by each user and brand we work with.

At molo, we design elements that support the creation of an atmosphere: space partitions that encircle or enclose a main focal point, cloud-like lights that cast an ambient glow, materials that absorb sound, and textures that reflect light and collaborate with colour. But the true magic happens in the hands of our public – brands and organizations that envision new forms and uses for these pieces.

Over time, we have observed how our objects do more than furnish a space; they shape atmospheres. Most recently, Spanish fashion house Loewe used softwall and softseating to create an installation, Crafted Garden, at the Madrid Design Festival. The installation felt like a separate world attendees could step into; a facade and a structure that established a threshold between the energy of the plaza and the world of perfume within. Crossing into the space, visitors were drawn into a quieter, contemplative environment that felt immersive, self-contained, and distinctly its own.

molo offers a linear suspension system that allows softwall and softblock to be installed as ceiling-hung partitions or sculptural light elements. For more expressive forms, prebent aluminum armatures can be integrated within the panels, shaping them into smooth, curving configurations. In this example, a trade show booth was defined by sweeping sections of illuminated textile softwall, creating a space that felt both structured and fluid and establishing a strong visual identity that could be seen from any angle.

There is deep creative synergy in working with our partners and official dealers, who use molo objects as trade show and event backdrops. There are countless examples of how brands have used molo pieces, which can be viewed online.

For nearly 30 years, the soft collection has evolved in response to a growing need for flexibility in how spaces are made and experienced. Temporary by nature, these pieces are designed to move easily with you. Packing flat, transporting efficiently, and assembling quickly on site, mobility and efficiency is a key component to each molo object.

Crafted from durable, high-quality materials, molo temporary partitions and objects have a sense of permanence that brings intentionality to every project. Elevating the shape and feel of your event, exhibition, or trade show booth, molo’s temporary furniture will define an experience for your audience they will always remember.

Though you may gather pieces specifically for trade shows and exhibits, these pieces can find new uses again in office spaces and events as your needs evolve. The beauty of a flexible, flat pack piece is that it will inevitably rise and unfold to your evolving needs.
